| Week 17 |
| Forest Green C visited Sheepscombe this week and with Keith Foord in good form remaining unbeaten was able to dent the home sides hopes of climbing closer to the leaders. Bruce Ind and Dave Shill with two each kept Sheepscombe in the match and managed to come through the doubles to earn a 5-5 draw. Randwick C took on Thornbury C in a match that neither side were able to dominate. Mark Edwards and Ralph Perrys two each for Randwick were cancelled out by the same for Graham Eden and Len Pattinson of Thornbury but with Tom Smee winning the final singles Randwicks doubles win saw them home 6-4. |
| Week 16 |
| Pessimists and Woodchester D remain locked in battle at the head of the table with neither team dropping any points in their respective matches coming through 10-0 in each one. Randwick C were no match for Pessimists with only one match going beyond three sets but never really looking like scoring. Woodchester D had a tougher challenge from Forest Green C where notably Tony Poole was unfortunate not to collect at least a point after going down in two of his matches in very close five set encounters. Cam & Dursley A remain firmly in the mix winning 7 -3 at Frampton C including a maximum for Harry Hogan and good support from his team mates. Clive Sturgess continues a good season collecting two for the home side with Len Agg adding their final point. |
| Week 15 |
| Woodchester D began the new year in fine style by visting Randwick C and coming away with an emphatic 10-0 win that lifts them in to joint top spot. A strong all round team performance from Ken Bridle, Chris Jenkins and Roger Davis saw them all unbeaten. Mark Edwards was the only Randwick player able to get close to a point when being shaded out by Roger in a close five set encounter. Cam & Dursley A took on Thornbury C in a match that was to be decided by the doubles after neither side were able to control the proceedings. Bob Wild and Steve Partridge had taken two games each for Cam only for that to be countered by Graham Eden and Mike Rose doing the same for Thornbury with the final singles going to the home side. Bob and Steve then put in a solid doubles performance to finaly seal the match 6-4 in Cam & Dursleys favour. |
| Week 14 |
| Pessimists top the table at the halfway stage of the season with a 7-3 win over Cam & Dursley A. Barry Morgan and Sue Bailey were both in good form coming through unbeaten and with another from Richard Evans completed their scoring. Cam & Dursleys Bob Wild and Steve Partridge took one each for the visitors and rounded that off with a fine five set doubles victory for another valuable point. Sheepscombe travelled to Thornbury C and were pushed all the way before sealing a 6-4 victory in a five set doubles. Dave Shill's maximum proved the deciding factor after len Pattison and Graham Eden had picked up two games each to take the match to the wire. The match between Randwick C and Forest Green C finished all square at 5-5 with neither team able to dominate. Mark Edwards was the form player of the night remaining unbeaten but two each from Ian Yemm and Tony Poole kept Forest Green well in the hunt with their team snatching the leveller in the final match of the night. |
| Week 13 |
| Pessimists moved back to the top of the table this week after their meeting with title rivals Sheepscombe saw them seal an 8-2 victory. Despite losing the match Sheepscombes Dave Shill was able to inflict the first defeat of the season for Barry Morgan in taking a fourth set win by 16-14. Cam & Dursley A played host to Woodchester D with neither side able to dominate the match and a 5-5 draw was to ensue. A maximum for the visiting sides Roger Davis held his team in the hunt but was unable to prevent Cam & Dursley claiming parity by taking the final doubles. Forest Green C took on Frampton C and went down 6-4 following an unbeaten night for Framptons Allan Lardner and strong support from Len Agg taking two more. Keith Foord with a couple of wins had taken Forest Green to the decider but the Frampton pair were able to combine to take the doubles and win the match . |
| Week 12 |
| This week there plenty of hard fought games in the match between title challengers Woodchester D and Sheepscombe. A very hard fought unbeaten night for Ken Bridle was the difference between the sides and a final 6-4 victory to Woodchester. Colin Bruton and Roger Davis weighed in with three more but found stiff resistance from Sheepscombes Bruce Ind and with Dave Shill taking another point for them before the two combined to win the doubles. Cam & Dursley A stay well in the mix winning 7-3 away at Randwick C with Neil Ormstons maximum setting them on their way. Bob Wilde and Paul Stewart provided three more for the team who added the doubles to the tally. Randwicks Mark Edwards steady play with two wins held up the winners and John Smee was able to take the third for the home side. In the match between Thornbury C and Frampton C only Graham Eden was able to exhert any domination by winning all three for Thornbury. Framptons Allan Lardner and Len Agg with two each had brought the match to a deciding doubles culminating in a fascinating five set win for the pair and concluding the match at 5-5. |
| Week 11 |
| Division 3: A much strengthened Pessimists side swept aside Frampton C 10-0 to take the lead in the division and lay down a challenge for the title. Barry Morgan, Richard Evans and Sue Bailey were all unbeaten with Frampton leaving a little shell shocked. Sheepscombe followed in their footsteps when also winning 10-0 this time at the expense of Randwick C and keeping up the pressure on the leaders. Only Jim Hurford was able to mount any sort of challange for Randwick but went down in four sets in all his games. Forest Green C were able to collect some much needed points by getting the better of Thornbury C 7-3. A good team effort from all the Forest Green players in securing two matches each and then edging to a five set doubles win saw them through. Graham Eden held up the opposition with a three point maximum for Thornbury. |
| Week 10 |
| Division 3: Leaders Pessimists underpinned their top position by easing past Thornbury C 8-2 with both Barry Morgan and Richard Evans too strong for the opposition and remained unbeaten. New signing Sue Bailey added the final point for the home side. Scorers for Thornbury were one each for Graham Eden and Len Pattison. A final doubles win for Bob Wild and Brian McNeil tipped the balance for Cam and Dursley A seeing them edge out Forest Green C 6-4 in a highly competitive match. Tony Pooles two and a win each from his team mates gave them a chance but the draw was not to be. A fighting undefeated performance from Frampton C,s Clive Sturgess helped his side to a fine 7-3 win at Woodchester D and with his team mates adding three more sealing the victory. Roger Davis provided resistance for Woodchester taking two and Chris Jenkins picking up their final point. |
| Week 9 |
| Sheepscombes push for the leadership saw them paired this week with Cam and Dursley A who were able to push them all the way before going down 6-4 after a final doubles defeat. Nigel Ross with a maximum and Bruce Ind with two wins had subdued the home side but Bob Wild held up the Cam challenge taking two and his team mates wining two more kept the result in doubt. An early night for both teams at Forest Green C as Pessimists came away with a 5-0 win after both teams were only able to field two players. Barry Mogan and Richard Evans won all of the available points for Pessimists. Randwick C entertained Frampton C where both sides were looking for much need points. Neither side were able to dominate and an almost predictable 5-5 draw came when Frampton held on to the doubles to keep honours even. |
| Week 8 |
| Division 3: Leaders Woodchester D suffered there first reverse of the season at the hands of second placed Pessimists 6-4. Barry Morgans continued unbeaten run and strong support by Richard Evans with a couple took the match result to a thrilling five set doubles before scraping through by taking the last two games by 12-10. Sheepscombe remain firmly in the mix comfortably winning 9-1 when Forest Green C could only field two players. Tony Poole picked up the consolation for the visitors to avoid the whitewash. Thornbury C collected their first win of the season when they overcame Randwick C 6-4 following solid maximums from Graham Eden and Mike Rose. All the Randwick players were able to collect a point each and added the doubles to keep the match score close. |

| Division 3: Woodchester D push on strongly at the head of the table with an away visit to Forest Green C and giving away little in a 9-1 win. An unbeaten night for Ken Bridle and Roger Davis set the tone and only Ian Yemm was able to stem the tide in a solitary singles win for Forest Green. Cam & Dursley A remain in the mix where an all round team performance saw them overcome Frampton C 8-2. Bob wild was in good form taking all his games for the home side before Allan Lardner and Clive Sturgess were able to ensure Frampton didn't leave empty handed. Pessimists collected a solid 7-3 win over Randwick C where Barry Morgan remained unbeaten for the season and Rich Evans also weighed in with a maximum. A game each for the Randwick team gave them some welcome points. |
| Week 6 |
| Division 3: A strong combination of Ken Bridle, Mike Hanks and Roger Davis saw Woodchester D take over at the top of the table this week. This followed a comprehensive 10-0 win at the expense of Randwick C who are finding it tough to pick up points this season. Sheepscombe keep up their challenge collecting a 7-3 victory on their visit to Frampton C. Dave Shill and Nigel Ross were unbeaten with Roz Ross adding the additional point. Scorers for Frampton were Allan Lardner and Len Agg with one each plus the doubles allowing them to take some valuable points. A complete team effort from Cam & Dursley A players was enough to take them to an 8-2 win at Thornbury C with Neil Ormston in good form taking a maximum. Thornburys resistance came from Mike Rose in collecting two very good points. |
| Week 5 |
| Division 3: Forest Green C continue to lead the table with a comfortable 7-3 victory over Randwick C. Keith Foord proved too strong for the opposition taking a maximum and together with Tony Poole collected the doubles. Mark Edwards kept Randwick in the match with two goods points and John Smee added the final one for the visitors. Pessimists were the visitors to Cam & Dursley A and a tight match ensued with honours finishing even at 5-5. Barry Morgan spearheaded the Pessimists challenge being unbeaten for the season but tough opposition from Neil Ormston and Steve Partridge with two apiece took the match to the deciding doubles where Pessimists triumphed to keep it all square. Another 5-5 draw between Sheepscombe and Thornbury C emphasises just how difficult it will be to take this division this year. Dave Shill was in his usual good form remaining unbeaten for the evening with Nigel and Roz Ross securing a point each. Graham Eden and Mike Rose with two each had held up the Thornbury challenge before taking the doubles between them and a share of the spoils. |
| Week 4 |
| Division 3: Woodchester C entertained Cam & Dursley B and only a strong team performance was able to edge them to a 6-4 victory over resilient opposition. Ken Bridle, Mike Hanks and Roger Davis taking two games each and one apiece for the Cam & Dursley boys who also landed the doubles giving them some well deserved points. Frampton C continue to collect points after Clive Sturgess took a maximum with some good consistent play. Good play also from Keith Foord and Tony Poole brought Forest Green into a 5-4 lead before Frampton earned the draw taking a long five set deciding doubles. Another drawn match between Pessimists and Sheepscome shows how tight the division is going to be again this year. Another unbeaten night for Barry Morgan meant that Dave Shill was beaten for the first time this season but only just going down 13-11 in the final set. |
| Week 3 |
| Div 3: Woodchester D triumphed 6-4 in a hard fought encounter at Sheepscombe. Roger Davis, a new signing from the Bristol League was involved in two very close matches winning 11-9 in the fifth against Hugh Tarren but went down 10-12 in the fifth to Dave Shill after being 9-5 up. Alan Lardner was the star for Frampton C with a maximum when they entertained Thornbury C but two games each from Len Pattison and Mike Rose set up a deciding doubles. With Frampton already on 5 points the pair were able to win the game and finish the match 5-5. Cam & Dursley A were victorious 7-3 in their encounter with Randwick C in which Bob Wild won all his games and was well supported by Brian McNeil with two and another from Paul Stewart. Jim Hurford provided strong opposition for Randwick and a win for Mark Edwards gave them some well earned points. |

| Div 3: Pessimists picked up their second consecutive win 6-4 against Frampton C but had to wait until winning the doubles before being sure. Barry Morgan was in good form taking all his three aided by Richard Evans with two more. A good team effort helped Frampton to take some valuable points. Forest Green C collected a comfortable victory over Thornbury C 8- 2 with Lachman Gallage being unbeaten. Keith Foord and Tony Poole provided the support with four more points. Resistance for Thornbury came from two creditable victories and ensured his side didn’t leave empty handed. Randwick C were involved in a very close match with Sheepscombe before going down 6-4 in the four set doubles. Dave Shill continued last seasons from with a maximum but two games each for Jim Hurford and Mark Edwards kept Randwick in the match right to the end. |

| Div 3: In the opening week of the new season Woodchester D visited Frampton C and came away with an 8 - 2 victory which included an unbeaten evening by Roger Davis. Colin Bruton and Ken Bridle added two more points each complete scoring while Framptons Allan Lardner proved a resilient opponent picking up his teams points. Cam & Dursley A played host to Forest Green C and were beaten 7 -3 partly due to a maximum from Tony Poole and aided by Ian Yemm (2) and Lucky Gallage (1). Bob Wild fought hard for Cam & Dursley with two good wins with Brian McNeil taking their final game. Pessimists Barry Morgan and Rich Evans again started the season very strongly both being unbeaten in a 7 – 3 win at Thornbury C . Len Pattison, Graham Eden and Tracy Dibble all shared a point each for their team but were unable to prevent pessimists from collecting the doubles. |
