WEEKLY REPORT PAGE

Division 1

Week 9
Two man Forest Green A beat Whiteshill 7-3 with maximums from Andy Maybe and Alan
Giles plus the doubles despite some very close sets.
Thornbury B beat 2 man Yate 7-3, Andy Cox edging out Dominic Costello in a trilling 5-setter,
only to be beaten by super sub Ian Maggs in top form in another tight 5-set tussle.
Woodchester B won a lose match against Cirencester 6-4, Bill Dawe winning his 3 with able
support from Dennis Wadley with 2 and John Tegg 1. Keith Howse was worked hard for his pair
on the evening beating both Dennis and John in 5 sets.
Woodchester A notched up their second clean sweep of the season over Thornbury B, with
Nick Collins, Dave Lloyd and Tony Clarkson proving too much for John, Neil and Nick Fraser, and
showing why they are top of the league.

Week 10
Yate and Cirencester shared the points for their second meeting of the season this week.
Andy Cox winning 3 on the evening with Grant Whitaker winning 2. The consistent Keith
Howse won 2 with one each from Paul Bird and Charlie Jefferies plus the doubles earned the
draw for Cirencester.
The battle of Woodchester part 2 earned a close 6-4 win for Woodchester A. The scorecard
shows unusually 9 singles matches all won/lost in 3-straight sets, with only the doubles
going to 4-sets. The usual Woodchester A suspects Dave Lloyd, Tony Clarkson and Nick Collins
all winning 2 each for the win. Bill Dawe again showing just how good he is by winning the 3
for the B team, plus some stunning play in the doubles according to match reports.
Finally Whiteshill hosted Thornbury A, again Ian Maggs substituting for the 3rd and final time ?
was is fine form taking a well earned 15 set maximum, Dominic Costello won 2 on the evening
plus a set from Gavin Rogers earned a 6-4 victory for Thornbury. A point each for Whiteshill's
Mike Kiff, Luke Davis and Duncan Toon plus a 5-setter win in the doubles made it a close match.

(Still outstanding one result from Week 7, Cirencester v's Thornbury B)

At just about half way through the season Woodchester A have a seemingly unsurpassable
lead at the top of Division 1 with an 18 point lead over Forest Green A who have undoubtedly
suffered from too many sort handed matches giving away a total of 13 sets so far this season.
(Woodchester A can also boast that all 5 of their players are in the top 15 of the averages).

Woodchester B not far behind in third place 4-points back from FG, the leagues top player
Bill Dawe has proven unbeatable so far with a perfect 24/24 average, which includes losing just a
single game !!!! (Whiteshill's Luke Davis has the honour on this, well done Luke).

Yate, Thornbury A and Cirencester are locked tight in mid table with positions changing on a
weekly basis.

Whiteshill A are just behind the mid table tussle, and Thornbury B are currently propping
up the division in eight positions.
